Augustine Daniels CEO of Sevenist was recently interviewed for an industry magazine; he opened up on why he loves the industry, his unique brand and commitment to developing others through his business development opportunity.

Explain what your company does

Sevenist is a specialised direct sales and marketing company my company helps clients to increase brand awareness and boost turnover and maximise their market share.

What motivated you to start your own business?

Even from a young age, I wanted to work for myself the idea of investing my talents in somebody else’s dream was something which offered no return for me.  Providing for my family has always been a primary focus, giving back to the support system that encouraged me in reaching my goals.  For myself, entrepreneurship is the most efficient way to control my earning potential and maintain the lifestyle I’ve always desired.

What would you say is the No. 1 misconception of the sales industry and what are you doing to dispel that?

Salespeople often come with a stigma that you must be pushy to win.  On the contrary, the sales and marketing industry forces action, working to targets means you can never have a day off from learning.  Becoming a pacesetter in the industry requires a level of commitment to developing new skills all the time.  In fact, I am confident the key to being successful in the industry is becoming an effective communicator, learning to listen and source solutions which customers can implement to improve their daily functionality.  My business offers newcomers to the industry the opportunity to partake in free regular workshops designed to educate and boost communication skills.

What are your goals for the next five years?

To develop the industries next top talent.  I will e investing resources into people who are looking to make an impact in the industry.  Offering opportunities to travel, network, be coached and consult with my business connections.  This opportunity is available to anyone who can demonstrate a passion for the industry and professional development.

How do you generate new ideas?

I am a bookworm; I love exploring business concepts new and old.  I set aside 3 hours each week to reading; I am confident this allows me to educate others and achieve unique results.

DO you believe there is one set formula for success as an entrepreneur?

Passion, ambition and persistence are crucial to success.  Passion – choose a project that offers intrinsic value, this will make obstacles easier to overcome.  Ambition – challenge yourself every day to better.  Persistence – There is always a way, if you fail 100 times, be sure to dust yourself off and learn 101 times.

What types of attributes do you look for in a candidate when you are recruiting?

The attributes I look for is humility, work ethic and someone who has an opened minded to trying new things.

What advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

Find a mentor, someone who can offer support, direction and will challenge capabilities.

What’s the next for your company?

2018 is set to be huge for us here at Sevenist, with our top performers pushing for positions of higher responsibility we will be able to offer more clients our services, expanding our market reach.  We anticipate opening five further offices this year will all senior positions being secured internally.
